SUMMARY:May Member Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Our May Member Luncheon will be on Wednesday\, May 20th\, 2026 from 12-2PM at the River Course Ballroom. Doors will open at 11:45am for members to mingle. \nThis luncheon will feature a special presentation by Robert E. Vingi Jr. as he shares the rich history of Kiawah Island\, from its origins as Indian hunting grounds through its development and 1980’s sale to Charleston-based partners. Many of you may know Robert from his podcast\, Local and Uncommon\, where he explores the island’s early development through conversations with residents\, bringing life to their insights and experiences. We have the opportunity to hear from Robert as he takes us even further back in time\, offering historical perspective on the island we all cherish. As a longtime Lowcountry resident\, he has lived in Charleston and on Kiawah since 1994\, spent three decades leading a Wealth Advisor Practice at Wells Fargo\, has chaired the board of Bishop Gadsden\, and currently serves on the Seafield board. \nWe will also welcome Meleana Cabales\, Arts\, etc.’s Communications Coordinator and recent graduate of the College of Charleston with studies in Vocal Performance and Arts Management. An active performer with CofC Opera\, Charleston Opera Theater\, and most recently the Charleston Symphony\, Meleana will share insights into her work as a young opera singer with a performance of opera’s most memorable repertoire. \nRegistration will open on Wednesday\, April 29th\, 2026 at 8AM.
